Project Hex: The Hexagonia is now released!

Project Hex has been finished and is now known as the The Hexagonia!

The Hexagonia is one of my favorite projects ever! As my first project utilizing topography, The Hexagonia sits in the beautiful mountains of Washington. Its a luxurious house with a swimming pool, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, a bowling alley, and a garage that can house up to 6 cars.

Inspired by the Hexagonia fungi, this is a building residing in the mountains deep in the forest. Like its name, its space utilizes multiple hexagons inspired by the Hexagonia and a honeycomb. This luxurious home sleeps deep in the woods. Its low profile design was made to seamlessly integrate into the calm, soothing forest in the mountains.

The Hexagonia was built around its name, the Hexagonia fungi. The building was designed in a low profile while also utilizing the efficient space of Hexagons.

This building was inspired by the Falling Water from Frank Lloyd Wright. Similar to the Falling Water, The Hexagonia tries to blend in with it environments while trying to bring in the outside environment into the home.

The building is very open and tries not to interrupt the view from inside to outside. It also tries to blend into the natural surroundings with its low profile and slow ascendance along with the mountain.

The Hexagonia actually started as a concept design as a staircase for a different project. I later tried designing it as a building and ended up with the low profile design. This is also my first ever project on a complex landscape, which was a challenge to overcome. However, I am happy with the end result and how this project turned out.
