The design of Portes du Paradis draws inspiration from two key sources: La Grande Arche de la Défense and one-point perspective drawings. La Grande Arche represents the gateway to a new world, while the single vanishing point in perspective drawings creates the sensation of being mentally drawn into the infinite, evoking a sense of transcendence.

At the heart of Portes du Paradis is its gate, which frames an uninterrupted view of the sky. The roof features strategically placed openings that mimic the shifting forms of clouds, allowing natural light to filter through and reflect the changing weather.

Additionally, Portes du Paradis is a church, with its first-floor entrance leading directly into the sanctuary. The sanctuary is a sacred space, distinguished by a glass-paneled wall shaped like a cross. Natural light streams through this cross-shaped window, casting a luminous cross onto the floor.

Symbolically, Portes du Paradis is located along the historic Champs-Élysées, a line that penetrates every major landmark in Paris. Positioned on the southwest side of this iconic axis, the Portes du Paradis stands perpendicular to the line. This intersection creates a cross with the Obelisk of Hope on the northwest side, merging history, symbolism, and spirituality into a unified architectural narrative.
